Interstate Trucking Carrier’s Safety Representative Dishonestly Denying Liability

This is a deposition of the Safety Director and Corporate Representative of an Interstate Carrier subject to DOT regulations. This individual is responsible for conducting an honest investigation into the cause of collisions involving company vehicles in order to prevent re-occurrence. In this case, the company truck ran a stop sign and caused a collision. You will see initial company paperwork writing up the driver saying that he “ran a stop sign.” However, in the deposition, the Safety Representative decided to not be honest about what happened as well as the reason why he was not honest – because that’s their company policy!
