Here are the 10 trucking companies in the U.S. with the worst safety record when it comes to vehicle collisions:
1. United Parcel Service (UPS)
Based on the numbers, UPS is the most dangerous trucking company in the United States. Between June 2023 and June 2025, the company’s drivers were involved in 2,452 accidents, including 73 fatal wrecks and 828 that resulted in injuries.
2. J.B. Hunt Transport LLC
J.B. Hunt semis were reported as being involved in 1,612 collisions over the past two years. Fifty-four fatal wrecks and 526 injury accidents were recorded as part of this total.
3. FedEx Express
Between 2023 and 2025, FedEx Express trucks were involved in 1,728 crashes, averaging approximately 850 per year. This included 35 fatal accidents and 597 injury crashes.
4. Swift Transportation
Swift Transportation was also reported to be involved in 35 fatal wrecks over the past 24 months. Unlike FedEx, however, the company’s vehicles were only involved in 891 crashes. Swift trucks also contributed to 264 injury crashes.
5. Werner Enterprises
Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Werner Enterprises doesn’t have as many total crashes on its record as other carriers. However, its 790 documented wrecks included 21 fatal accidents and 225 injury crashes.
6. XPO Logistics
Michigan-based XPO Logistics was involved in 678 traffic crashes between 2023 and 2025, including 19 fatal accidents and 202 injury crashes.
7. Estes Express
Approximately 9,000 drivers work for Estes Express. Between 2023 and 2025, these truckers were reported to have been in 581 traffic accidents, including 179 injury crashes and 12 fatal accidents.
8. Averitt Express
Averitt Express vehicles were involved in 87 injury crashes and seven fatal wrecks in the years covered, despite only being a party to just over 305 total collisions.
9. Schneider National
While not the most dangerous company in terms of total number of accidents, the 715 wrecks in which the company was involved over the past two years included 11 fatal collisions and 247 injury crashes.
10. Amazon Logistics
As the online retailer continues to grow and expand, the number of trucks Amazon has on the road is also increasing. Over the past two years, this has led to company trucks being involved in five fatal accidents and 136 injury crashes, with 342 wrecks overall.
