Why “Back-pack to School”?

Houston, TX School Event By Attorney Brian White

Brian was on a recent work trip when he learned of “The Backpack Project,” an incredible non-profit organization that has donated over 250,000 backpacks to deserving elementary schools in the past five years.

The Backpack Project resonated with Brian, who grew up in a low-income household where he and his family struggled with basic needs, especially things like school supplies. Moreover, many of Attorney Brian White Personal Injury Lawyers’ clients come from similar socioeconomic backgrounds. Accordingly, Brian felt his firm should step up and support a local elementary.

Why Ketelsen Elementary School in Houston, TX?

Ketelsen Elementary School in Houston, TX

Brian and firm staff met with a number of deserving elementary schools in the Houston area. However, the team fell in love with the students and staff at Ketelsen Elementary School. It was apparent that the school had tremendous teachers and staff members but lacked key resources. A Wraparound staff member who works with the school even told us that students often ask him for extra food to take home because school lunch is their only meal.

The Ketelson community was incredibly gracious during the entire back-pack to school event, and the unconditional support the teachers and administrators have for the students was on full display. We were continually reminded of why we chose Ketelson throughout the event.

Good Luck This School Year, Ketelson!
