Rusty Harrison is a past member of the Board of Directors of Texas Trial Lawyers Association, completed a one-year term as Briefing Attorney to Judge Murry B. Cohen of the First District Court of Appeals (1999-2000) and served on the Editorial Board of the South Texas Law Review (1998-1999).

His practice primarily focuses on representing plaintiffs in trucking, motor vehicle, premises liability, Jones Act, medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury cases.

Rusty is a sixth generation Texan. After graduating high school in Crockett in 1988, Rusty attended Sam Houston State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Criminology before going on to earn a Master of Arts in English (emphasis in American literature) from Stephen F. Austin State University.  After working for several years in his family’s agricultural interests, Rusty attended law school at South Texas College of Law where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in May 1999. During law school, Rusty received the Dean’s Diversity Fellowship, numerous class high-grade awards, and was named a member of the South Texas Law Review where he served as both Assistant Research Editor (1997-98) and Note & Comment Editor (1998-99).

Rusty and his wife Teresa reside in Tomball. Teresa is an Interior Designer and owner of TMD Designs, a residential and commercial design firm.
