On Sunday morning, around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a crash at the 2600 block of Chimney Rock Road, near where it intersects with Westheimer. A vehicle driving eastbound on Westheimer attempted to make a southbound turn onto Chimney Rock Rd. when they struck the young male on the scooter. The HPD says this is an ongoing investigation. A later update to the story states a hit-and-run tow truck driver caused the fatality.
